Pum Editores

I love how you can stumble on a fabulous new (to me) illustrator
just by checking the Fbook on a sleepy morning. I love Google translator, too!

Pum Editores is amazing. Check out the link. Must find if her books are available stateside. You know someone who does a children's book about the devil gets my attention every time.

Enjoy!

Baby Jesus is back

'Tis the season, and the holy family and Santa are alight in my neighbor's yard once again. Now that Daisy is bigger than Baby J, she no longer feels the need to bark at him. I've seen her eying Santa though, no doubt recognizing the anachronistic nature of his presence here.

At left is my seasonal tableau. As you can see this is a truly natural grouping. Season's Greetings to all!

Got behind in my 21! Hired two people. Went on a much needed vacation.

Meanwhile, I am finding 21 Things so fun and such a great resource. Thank you!

Week Two

While I think that Google Alerts, Social Mention, and (especially) Addictomatic are very cool, I cannot imagine having the time to make good use of them. My current position doesn't allow me much time to do more than keep my head above water, and I'm at it more than 40 hours/week. In my neck of the woods funding cuts and reduction in staffing has people doing much more with less. I hope there are some timesavers coming up in the 21 Things!

Hand helds for Noble

Imagine being in the stacks and having the catalog and the internet in the palm of your hand! This will be an adventure.

We are renovating our Noble Branch of Cleveland Heights-University Heights Library. Plans include adapting our cutting edge (so last century) "roving reference" to a smaller branch library setting. I love the juxtaposition of 1930's retro decor and 22nd Century tools to do reference where it happens.

Thoughts on Web 2.0

So Web 2.0 is to Web 1.0

as Chalk is to Harold and the Purple Crayon.

21 Things and Technology

This is from Jean Luc Picard-the-Action-Figure's Facebook page, and it reminds me of something about Star Trek that's always made me feel uneasy. No ship's librarian.
Thinking about embarking on the 21 Things journey makes me think about a good journey like the one about seeking out new life,etc....right on to the split infinitive.
Off to explore some gadgets...
